This project works to analyze the neighborhoods and schools in the Chicago area.
Through our analysis of both of our data sets we found that Chicago shows strong segmentation. The central and south side of the city show higher poverty rates and concentration of predominantly black neighborhoods. These areas are also where we see the most amount of schools per ward and lowest safety scores. This shows that schools and their perception are impacted by the areas that they are in. Overall, our insights match information known about the south side of Chicago as one of the more dangerous areas due to high levels of poverty and crime.
